What is your favourite regular ride

Believe it or not, one of my favourite regular rides is smashing up Mt Gravatt as many times as possible.. it’s not a particularly steep hill, according to Strava it’s a steady climb for 2km, steepest gradient 7%.. but it’s a great challenge, and my record thus far is 7 laps in one session! One of my other all time faves is from my parent’s place in Nerang to Broadbeach, out to the Spit at Main Beach and return with my Dad. It’s a relatively flat ride, about 50km, and I love getting up early on a Sunday morning, smash out some kms & stop at the beach for a swim on the return leg. Great fun! 🙂

What is your favourite 25000spins ride and why?

Such a tough decision, as all the trips I’ve been on have been brilliant. Switzerland is absolutely incredible, with its magnificent scenery everywhere you look. Seriously, the whole place is like a postcard. The scenery in Queenstown is equally amazing, and getting to the top of the Crown Ranges on the third day is an achievement & a half! London to Paris is the only trip I am yet to do, but I’ll get there one day, and I’m sure it will be fantastic.. also looking forward to Big Sur someday!
However Great Ocean Rd is probably my all time fave. It’s the trip that inspired me to take up cycling – as a support driver in 2014, I spent the whole time wishing I was out there, so the following year I came back, this time on a bike! I have completed it twice now as a cyclist, and it’s one I’d like to keep doing as long as I can cycle! I love coming back every year and cycling with people from previous rides and meeting new friends as well. It just never gets old!!

What has been the best part about partnering with 25000spins and ADRA?

I just love the whole concept behind 25000spins. I get to combine the things I am most passionate about – helping people, through raising as much money I can, travelling to new places, and of course, cycling!! Partnering with ADRA has been a fantastic experience. Each staff member I have interacted with has been so helpful in providing the information I need to inform my sponsors about the projects their money is going to. The passion they have for people and helping those in great need is apparent as you speak with them. There are many charities out there, but with ADRA I have peace of mind knowing the money is going where they say it is going. It’s a great organisation doing great work, and it is a privilege to work with them.
