The Route from London to Athens

Stage 1 London to Paris 22nd July – 26th July

Joined by 20 other cyclists a support vehicle and a film crew this section of the trip I am really looking forward too. To make it into Paris in time to see the end of the Tour de France. To enjoy four days of touring with a group of people raising money to help children in need will be a great experience. View Larger Map

Stage 2 Paris to Venice 26th July -18th August

From Paris I will head out towards Geneva and through the Swiss Alps. A friend will be joining me for this part of the journey. Once we reach the Dolomite mountains we will then descend down into Venice. From there our paths will part and I will continue onto Croatia.View Larger Map

Stage 3 Venice to Athens 18th August – 25th September

From Venice I will continue onto Croatia where I will spend one week sailing regaining my strength for the final ride down the Croatian coast into Montenegro, Albania and then Greece. View Larger Map

Q1: What have you been doing to fundraise? My friend Celia and I have a strategy to host two fundraising events to raise funds for Tearfund as well as to ask family and friends for direct support. We had our first event early November which was a movie night. We hired out our local cinema and charged guests $28 to see the wonderful new-release He Named me Malala and a drink.

Q1: What have you been doing to fundraise? My approach has been to excite people to consider donating to the ride by offering a prize if they make a donation. Because I felt the request to donate occurs so frequently among my friends and also in the community I wanted to firstly capture their attention with a prize offer before sharing my request and more information about why I am asking for their financial support.

Q1: What have you been doing to fundraise? The first thing I have done this year was to run a raffle at my local parkrun. People’s donations could be made online as per normal, or on the day. Most people donated on the day. I promoted the idea that for every $10 donated, people would receive 3 raffle tickets, or if they donated $5, then once ticket.
